THE EQUESTRIAN NOTICE BOARD GOLDEN BUTTON CHALLENGE 2022

A total of 45 brave horses and riders lined up for this unique event, many of whom had travelled from as far a field as Ireland, Kent and Leicestershire. 25 competitors crossed the finishing line to complete the course and all horses and Humans returned safely.

The race was won by Quorn Joint-Master Rowan Cope riding Arthur. Impressively, Arthur has now won the Triple Crown of Hunt rides after previously winning the Melton Hunt Club Ride and the Harborough Ride. The 13 year old thoroughbred was retired after the race.

Becky Smith and Important Moment past the post in front of Rowan Cope, But unfortunately had lost her weight cloth in the final stages of the race and was therefore disqualified.

It was decided that, for their heroic effort, Becky would be awarded the 1st Ledbury Golden Button as no Ledbury member completed the course. Maggie Brims fared the best of the Ledbury Riders and was awarded the World Wide Web Trophy.
